It is up to you to decide how you wish to spend your life. You can remain brainwashed — silently accepting worsening corruption and injustice, while being confused and confounded by media distractions, sensationalism, smoke-screens, and endless chatter about problems — with no real effort to find lasting solutions. Or, you can become truly informed and have a practical plan of action for making lasting improvements. Each of our lifetimes on earth is short. Our individual chance to bring lasting change is a matter of decades. Will you look back on your life as a series of missed opportunities to make a lasting difference? Or, will you look back with satisfaction and a deep, inner knowing that you spent your time and energy truly improving the world for your loved ones — using the best plan of action you could find.
The plan of action presented here advances ethics and democracy. It uses ancient ideas for justice. It has been improved through public review. And, it remains open to continuous improvement.
"Enlightenment is freedom from self-caused dependency on the understanding of others. This dependency is self-caused if it is due to fear of using your own understanding — instead of inability to do so. Therefore, the motto of enlightenment is: Sapere aude! Have courage to use your own understanding!" – Immanuel Kant
In 2004, the first draft of the Public Peace Plan was presented for public review. Since then, almost 20,000 people from around the world have reviewed it. Improvements have been made based on feedback. The challenge given to all is simple: Tell us if you find an error in the information, and tell us how to improve the solutions. If you cannot find an error and cannot improve the solutions, then discuss these new ideas with others. Corrections and suggestions may be sent to comments@globalpublic.org. Since the primary solutions — advancing ethics and advancing democracy — involve improving the process for selecting public decision-makers, suggestions should be related to improving this process.
Eventually, each of us realizes life is short. And, we realize we should live life with few regrets. So while there is still time, we should find the courage to do what is best to ensure security and happiness for our families and all members of our species. To do this, we should find the best plan of action, and we should use it. The plan you select and the efforts you make are your choices.
"To overcome evil with good is good, to resist evil by evil is evil." – Mohammed
